Steady and Strong Parkinson's Program

This evidence based wellness program empowers people with Parkinson’s Disease to live better. This program uses exercise to manage the disease and regain control of movement.

Exercise plans are adapted to all levels of the disease, so the program is valuable to newly diagnosed and progressed states alike. The group meets to exercise and support one another.

Aside from total body group exercise, the program includes a fine motor skills class. The goals are to increase fine motor skills, to better upper extremity coordination, and trunk control, and to improve posture through exercises and activities.

This program is offered at NO COST to Parkinson’s patients and their families and has over 40 current participants on the roster.

While individuals may come for exercise, they will find so much more than that. Come to try out the class!

If you're a new participant, simply come the first day and fill out a waiver. If you decide to join the class, staff will give you the appropriate papers to bring back at a later date.

In person group exercise classes are offered weekly on  Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at the Flowood Branch.

In addition to group exercise, there is also a fine motor skills class offered on Wednesdays at 2:00pm.
