PILATES/YOGA

Functional Yoga. Not another style of yoga but rather an approach to practicing. These classes and poses are based on real-world situational biomechanics; we explore how a joint or body part is supposed to move. Each yoga pose is broken down into its basic components and then taught in a way that each student can modify in a way that honors their body’s history of injury, surgery, or trauma. This is a beginner friendly class and offers a nice change of pace for more advanced students.

All Levels Flow. This class focuses on breathing techniques and improving balance and flexibility through mindfulness and movement.

Mat Pilates. Mat Pilates consists of Pilates exercises and movements done on a mat. Pilates is a total body conditioning exercise method combining flexibility and strength. It’s purpose is to develop mind and body uniformity, provide balance, flexibility and strength to improve posture and to focus on the core muscles

Reformer Pilates. Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance.

Yoga. Concentrates on improving balance, flexibility, relaxation and breathing techniques. Practicing yoga is a great way to learn how to manage and relieve stress.

Chair Yoga. Brings the best of a yoga practice to those who require or prefer the support of a chair. The class helps participants stay healthy, vibrant and confident by focusing on developing small and large muscle groups, stretching, balancing and strength building. Chair yoga classes help maintain mobility, improve flexibility, cultivate mindfulness and increase body awareness.

Silver Sneakers Yoga/Stretch. Get ready to move through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered so you can perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level.

AQUA

Shallow Water Fitness. Works your whole body in multiple directions and promotes smooth movements (instead of quick, jerky motions). It also allows you to work at a higher level that you could tolerate on land, which helps improve mobility and strengthen cardiovascular endurance while easing arthritis pain.

Deep Water Aerobics. Incorporates a balanced workout that includes warm-up, aerobic training and cool down. These classes practice various strength, toning and flexibility stretching. Due to the natural resistance of the water, the muscles will strengthen in a low impact environment
